Braised Cabbage

Braised Cabbage

Cook Time: 2 1/2 hours (10 minutes active)      Yield 6-8 servings

1 head cabbage, cut into 8 wedges
1 large onion thickly sliced
1 carrot, sliced
1/4 cup stock (any variety)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Salt & pepper

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Arrange all vegetables in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pours liquids over all. Add seasonings.  Tightly cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.  Carefully turn the wedges over and add more stock or water if dry. Bake one more hour or until very soft.

Raise heat to 400 degrees. Remove foil and bake until browned a bit - about 15 minutes.
