Pea Pod Broth

Pea Pod Broth

Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes total (active 20 minutes)       Yield: 4 servings

pea pods (The tough pods of shelling-type peas, as many as you have. Tendrils, stems, strings, and ends are also fine.)
3 cloves garlic
1/2 onion
5 sprigs parsley
salt
pepper

Optional:
celery
carrots
lovage

Step 1: Put all ingredients in a pot, cover with water, and simmer for about an hour. Optionally, you can brown the garlic and onions in oil (or butter) first, then add the other ingredients.

Step 2: After 1 hour, strain out the vegetables and discard them.
